Is Castile Soap Good To Use For Skin Issues?

According to reviews on, 96% of people with acne prone skin would recommend Castile Soap to a friend due to its positive results on their skin. Those who suffer with dry and flaky or sensitive skin also find it to alleviate much of their sensitivity due to the fact that is made from sustainably sourced Organic tree oils. Olive oil has been used for hundreds of years to make soap. These days Castile Soap is made from a broad range of oils, including Olive, Hemp, Almond and sustainably produced Coconut and Palm Kernel Oils.

Castile Soap originated in Castile, Spain and is produced by many reputable USA companies. At Sweet Life Spa, we focus on purchasing from as many USA small family businesses as possible, therefore, we obtain Castile Soap from the USA. Castile Soap is often used as a wash to clean vegetables of contaminants, so it is a safe and non-toxic alternative to harsh synthetics in most face cleansers on the market.

Avoiding synthetic cleansers with sulfates in your skincare routine is very beneficial for problematic skin. Any cleanser that leaves you running for a toner and moisturizing serum, right after you wash your face, is evidence that it is too harsh for your skin. Organic Castile Soaps do not contain Sodium Lauryl Sulfates, but they can be slightly dehydrating on their own as soap can be. Most "soaps" in cleansers on the market aren't soap at all. They are harsh drying detergents that contain nothing close to real soap. Some of the marketed as "soap" cleansers are the same substance used to clean the floors of industrial buildings. Who wants that on their face or the most delicate skin on our bodies? It's no wonder that so many are struggling with skin conditions!

Sweet Life Spa's Organic "Sweet Face" Wash is an unique combination of a slightly foaming face wash, a detoxifying clay mask and the Oil Cleansing Method. There is nothing else like it on the market! We use 2 different mild Organic Castile Soap varieties in our "Sweet Face" Wash for purged pores and makeup removal for all different skin types and issues. Proper formulation is key! Our #1 ingredient in our face wash is Organic Aloe Vera for its soothing, hydrating and vitamin-rich properties. We also incorporate Organic tea, nut and super fruit oils, detoxifying sun-dried clay and antioxidants for a deeper cleanse without stripping your skin.

Organic "Sweet Face" Wash Rose Hibiscus

For Normal, Mature, Dry and Sensitive Skin, our Rose Hibiscus formula is petal pink with a light Rose, Hibiscus and Pomegranate aroma.

Organic 'Sweet Face" Wash Green Tea Ylang-ylang

For Combination, Oily and Acne Prone Skin, our Green Tea Ylang-ylang formula contains Dead Sea Salt, pore refining Bentonite Clay and non-comedogenic cleansing Oils. It's scent is light with soft florals and Pink Grapefruit.

For stubborn waterproof mascara, eyeliner and brow defining products, we recommend our deliciously scented, fresh Organic Virgin "Sweet Cream" of Coconut as a first step cleanser to melt away waterproof mascara. This lush and fragrant beauty oil has numerous uses for your entire body. It is not from dried and dirty copra like many other coconut oils on the market. Being cold-pressed immediately after harvest, we consider it to have a much lower comedogenic rating of a 2, compared to a 4, of other coconut oils.

Organic "Sweet Cream" of Coconut

None of our products are crafted with alcohol, harsh synthetics or peroxides. They leave you with soft skin and clear pores without drying alcohol, petrochemicals, silicone, parabens and phthalates.

But, what about using oils on oily skin? Won't they just make my skin oilier and cause acne? The answer is a big NO! The proper use of non-comedogenic, dry oils is more beneficial to oily skin than detergents and water. As you may remember from your high school chemistry classes, "oil dissolves oil". Dry oils penetrate the canal of your pores with antioxidants and antibacterial agents, balance your skin's pH levels and feed your skin with moisture. Synthetics and alcohol dry out pores and may be effective for short term treatment. The problem is that they often cause excessive dryness, flaking and irritation.

As a defense, your body will self moisturize with an excess of sebum. This type of sebum that your body produces is heavy and waxy, to provide immediate protection, against things that shouldn't be there in the first place. Waxy sebum traps dirt, makeup and bacteria in your pores along with dead skin cells and lymphatic fluid. The result is a on-going battle, in which your skin is only trying to help, but breakouts are the result! There are much better, safer solutions.

After washing your face, we recommend our "Sweet Face" Rosewater Mist which further regulates sebum production and the pH levels of your skin. It also minimizes redness, inflammation and large pores. Our formula is alcohol-free so it will not dehydrate your skin or cause flakes and irritation. It is light, airy and hydrating with Rosewater, Aloe Vera, Witch Hazel, Acai Berry and Colloidal Silver for purified skin. After our Rosewater Mist, we recommend one of our deep level moisturizing Facial Serums.

"Sweet Face" Rosewater Mist

We currently offer four serums for a silky, protective lipid barrier that targets common skin complaints with polyphenols and phytonutrients. For example, our Marine Moisture Serum Astaxanthin Complex is exceptional for reversing and protecting against UV damage, eradicating flaky skin and brightening a dull complexion on a cellular level.
